What is GELATO?
Gelato is Italian ice cream.
It has roughly half the fat of the American version of ice cream because it is made with milk rather than heavy whipping cream. Due to the churning process, gelato has less air than ice cream, thus giving it a silkier texture and denser flavor. Gelato is served in a softer state than ice cream resulting in smooth consistency that quickly melts in your mouth. Less fat, more flavor. What’s not to love?
